Description

Japan’s cult label DD. Records existed only from 1980 to 1985, yet in that short span released an astonishing 222 cassettes and a handful of vinyl records. Largely unknown outside Japan, the label became a haven for avant-garde musicians, embracing post-punk, electronic, sound collage, jazz-prog, and proto-industrial experimentation.

Disk Musik, released in 1985, was DD. Records’ final album—a sonic time capsule capturing the raw creative spirit of a self-contained community of tape-traders, home-recording artists, and DIY visionaries. Featuring genre-defying compositions from Circadian Rhythm, T. Kamada, Young Hormones, and more, this reissue breathes new life into a nearly forgotten chapter of Japanese underground music history.

For fans of: Nurse With Wound, Yellow Magic Orchestra, Throbbing Gristle, Coil
