Callum Bell – The Collective Unconscious in Music 3rd April
Apr 3, 2025, 7:30 pm
Join us at 12 Bar Music & Social for a thought-provoking evening with Callum Bell, author of a groundbreaking new book exploring the collective unconscious through the lens of Black music, culture, and philosophy.
Published by Panswed, a new indie, lo-fi publisher based in Sheffield, this non-fiction volume delves into the deep connections between music, community, and consciousness. From the Afro-diasporic roots of rave culture to the contrast between collectivism and individualist capitalism, Callum unpacks how music can be an antidote to modern alienation.
Following successful talks in Sheffield, including Grub Records HQ, this is a unique opportunity to hear Callum’s insights in an intimate setting. Expect big ideas, deep discussion, and plenty of inspiration.
Come down, grab a drink, and be part of the conversation.
