Following the success of Hadsel (2023), Zach Condon returns with A Study of Losses, a deeply evocative and ambitious album inspired by impermanence, memory, and the passage of time.

The project originated in spring 2023, when Swedish circus Kompani Giraff invited Condon to compose music for their adaptation of Judith Schalansky’s novel, a work exploring themes of extinction, lost history, and personal transformation. Over the course of its creation, A Study of Losses evolved into Beirut’s largest album to date, spanning 18 tracks and nearly an hour of music, making it one of their most expansive and immersive works yet.

With its signature brass arrangements, lush orchestration, and melancholic beauty, the album embodies the atmospheric storytelling that Beirut is known for, while pushing their sonic boundaries further. This limited edition transparent blue vinyl pressing is a must-have for longtime fans and new listeners alike.
