Lael Neale’s Altogether Stranger is a deeply immersive collection of minimalist drone-pop, dreamlike folk, and poetic storytelling. Written and recorded in the early morning quiet of Los Angeles, the album balances raw intimacy with expansive sonic textures, influenced by Dionne Warwick, John Lennon, primitive American gospel, and Spacemen 3.
Produced by Guy Blakeslee, Altogether Stranger features Neale’s signature Omnichord meditations, hypnotic vocal delivery, and striking lyrical themes. The album traverses garage rock nursery rhymes, Motorik rhythms, and deeply personal reflections, capturing a sense of both solitude and connection.
Following sold-out shows across Los Angeles, New York, London, and Paris, as well as touring alongside Weyes Blood, Neale solidifies herself as a singular, self-sufficient artist with a uniquely atmospheric and meditative sound.
