Following the success of CACTI (2023) and her self-titled debut (2020), Metalhorse is a bold conceptual album exploring life’s unpredictability through the metaphor of a dilapidated funfair—where risk, pleasure, danger, and exhilaration collide.
Blending blues, folk, and piano-driven arrangements, this is Billy Nomates’ most expansive album yet, moving beyond her stark punk sound into something more atmospheric and textured. Featuring a full band lineup including Mandy Clarke (KT Tunstall, The Go! Team) on bass and Liam Chapman (Rozi Plain, BMX Bandits) on drums, the album also includes a special feature from The Stranglers’ frontman Hugh Cornwell on "Dark Horse Friend."
