Bach spent the final 27 years of his life, and makes Malone the first musician to perform contemporary works on the church’s Bach Organ.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMalone is joined by Lucy Railton on cello and Stephen O’Malley on bowed acoustic guitar, extending the trio’s deep-listening collaboration from \u003cem\u003eDoes Spring Hide Its Joy\u003c\/em\u003e. Across the record, slowly unfolding chords move through ambiguity, radiance, sadness and joy, with the musicians working as a single, patient unit as the organ climbs into its upper register.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe first half of the album began as a commission for the 2023 Venice Music Biennale, while the final pieces were composed shortly before the 2025 recording session.
