Following 2024’s \u003cem\u003eMigratory\u003c\/em\u003e, Fujita extends the lineage of Japanese environmental music associated with Hiroshi Yoshimura, Midori Takada and Haruomi Hosono, while retaining a distinctly tactile voice of his own.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAcross seven long-form pieces, acoustic marimba, vibraphone and percussion meet Armenian duduk from Hayk Karoyi, Japanese shō from Mattias Hållsten, field recordings of birds and frogs, drones and white noise. The music was designed to shift with the time of day and respond to weather conditions through sensors, creating alternate sunny, cloudy and rainy states inside the installation.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eNow based in a converted former kindergarten in the mountain village of Kami-cho, Hyōgo, Fujita brings that close relationship with landscape into an album full of subtle movement and natural detail.
