Hot on the heels of their 2024 Sub Pop debut, Welsh trio The Bug Club return with Very Human Features – a swaggering, surreal and sharp-witted garage rock whirlwind. Recorded in the band’s signature style of collective chaos and clever lyricism, this record sees vocalists Sam and Tilly navigate riff-heavy hooks and dual vocals with uncanny chemistry.

Lead single “Have U Ever Been 2 Wales” is a fuzzed-out national anthem for those who know, a blend of Dinosaur Jr. guitar jangle and tongue-in-cheek local pride. Elsewhere, the band explore topics ranging from digital disconnect (“Beep Boop Computers”) to the absurdities of emotional etiquette (“How to Be a Confidante”), all wrapped up in a gloriously glam, punk-tinged package.
