Geordie Greep, guitarist and vocalist of black midi, announces his debut solo album The New Sound. After releasing three groundbreaking albums with black midi, including 2023's Hellfire, and touring globally for five years, Greep has found time to explore new creative territory. The New Sound offers a bold, alternative pop sound with a fresh, high-energy approach. Greep says, "Recording this album was the first time I had no one to answer to, allowing me to fully follow through on every creative impulse."
Featuring over thirty session musicians from São Paulo and London, the album was recorded across two continents. Greep explains, "Half of the tracks were done in Brazil with local musicians, all pulled together at the last minute, based solely on the demos I'd made." The result is an album full of raw creativity, limitless exploration, and musical freedom.
