The self-titled second album from visionary artist, producer, and pop pioneer SOPHIE has been created alongside some of her closest collaborators. This album was near completion when SOPHIE tragically passed away. It has since been lovingly finalized by those who knew her best.
Reflecting on the project, SOPHIE’s family shared:
“When we, SOPHIE’s family, took our first steps towards bringing this project to fruition, we contacted the dear friends with whom she envisioned the album. We wrote, ‘We have been finding comfort in the music SOPHIE left us, it is a gift that we truly cherish as we try to find a way forward, with SOPHIE forever at the centre of our worlds.’”
SOPHIE didn’t often speak publicly about her private life, preferring to express herself through her music. It feels only right to release the music she hoped to share, believing that her audience can connect with her through the medium she loved most.
This album tells the story of SOPHIE’s musical journey—a dazzling blend of skill and creativity that transcends time and genre. Her unique sound moves at an emotional level, urging listeners to embrace the evolving contrasts of light and dark, soft and hard. SOPHIE’s work went beyond sound, crafting the world she envisioned.
Now, SOPHIE holds even more significance, telling not only a musical story but also a life story—moving from the mysterious unknown, through vibrant club culture, to a euphoric immateriality. As SOPHIE’s family said, “SOPHIE gave all of herself to her music. It’s here that she can always be found.”

How long will my order take?
Many of the records we sell are sourced to order from our trusted network of UK distributors, allowing us to offer thousands more titles than we could ever stock in-store. Please allow up to 7 working days for dispatch.
If you've pre-ordered a record, we'll always aim to dispatch it in time for release day so it arrives on, or as close to, the official release date as possible.
Why does dispatch take a little longer?
We're an independent record shop, not a warehouse. Rather than filling shelves with thousands of records that may never sell, we carefully source many titles once you place your order.
It means a wider catalogue, less waste and more opportunities to discover great music.
How are records packaged?
Every record is packed using purpose-made vinyl mailers with protective packaging to help ensure it arrives safely.
Whenever we can, we'll also include a few 12 Bar stickers, our latest zine and other little extras to make opening your order feel just as special as playing the record.
Can I return my order?
If your order arrives damaged or isn't quite right, please get in touch and we'll make it right.

Can I collect my order from the shop?
Absolutely. If you'd prefer to collect from 12 Bar Music & Social in Exeter, simply choose Local Pickup at checkout and we'll let you know as soon as your order is ready.
