12 Bar Music & Social is a space built around music and connection.
Bringing together vinyl, live music, and specialty coffee under one roof, it’s shaped by record shops, listening sessions, and grassroots venues — designed for discovery, conversation, and staying a little longer than you planned.
More than a shop or a venue, 12 Bar is part of Exeter’s independent music community — supporting emerging artists, championing fair pay, and creating space for people to come together.

Don't just take our word for it
I am not sure whether to describe this as the best coffee shop, or the best bar or the best record shop in Exeter. It is probably all three.
It’s hard to fault 12 Bar - a real range of contemporary releases and a growing pre-loved section means the scale of temptation is high for any vinyl lover.
Just had I think the best coffee I’ve ever had in Exeter. Great service from Francesca, a hidden gem this music café is.
