Moon Music Coldplay

Coldplay have announced the release of their highly-anticipated tenth album, Moon Music, set to arrive in stores and on streaming services on October 4, 2024. The record, produced by Max Martin, is now available for pre-order everywhere.

LIMITED FIRST EDITION RELEASE

In a move to reduce waste, the First Edition of Moon Music will be strictly limited, featuring both EcoRecord rPET LP and EcoCD formats, produced to a higher specification than any future editions. Each First Edition EcoRecord rPET LP will be individually numbered.

NEW FORMATS AND SUSTAINABILITY STANDARDS

In keeping with Coldplay’s pioneering sustainability efforts on their current tour— which has achieved 59% fewer CO2 emissions than their previous stadium tour—the band has gone to great lengths to make the physical release of Moon Music as sustainable as possible.

• The album will be the world’s first to be released as a 140g EcoRecord rPET LP, with each copy containing nine recycled PET-plastic bottles recovered from post-consumer waste. This innovation will prevent the manufacture of over 25 metric tonnes of virgin plastic and result in an 85% reduction in CO2 emissions per kilogram compared to traditional vinyl manufacturing.

• Coldplay has also partnered with The Ocean Cleanup to introduce the Notebook Edition EcoRecord rPET LP, made from 70% river plastic intercepted from the Rio Las Vacas, Guatemala. This effort has helped prevent plastic from reaching the Gulf of Honduras and the Atlantic Ocean.
